North Ave Jax
North Ave Jax is an interesting artist to keep an eye on. Born in Burlington, Vermont, the young artist checks every box to be a star. His lyrics refer back to age-old struggles all listeners can relate to, such as fake love, mental struggles, and troubled relationships. More impressively, Jax is able to make you feel his emotions through the cadence of his voice. In the rap world of 2023, it’s refreshing to kick back and hear my struggles in a much more talented voice than mine. The strength of his discography is undeniable. Since pursuing music full time, Jackson has signed to LVRN, which is home to the likes of 6lack, Summer Walker, and Westside Boogie. Earlier this year, he joined Lil Tjay’s “I’m Back” tour as an opener. Truth be told, social media showed the worst side of it, like dead crowds, and fans not interacting with his set. Let’s be real, if you’ve ever been to a concert, you’ve seen this play out a million times. Most people don’t know openers, and that’s okay. The purpose is to grow your audience and gain valuable performing experience. He’s new to the mainstream, new to performing at this level, and yet he pushed through and performed like he was the headliner. Later, the rapper even made light of it on his TikTok and used it as motivation. If there’s anything I can appreciate from an artist, it’s resiliency. He’ll laugh about it one day. Until then, we should all be very excited for his next project and the rollout, as LVRN’s track record proves well with artists development. North Ave Jax will be a star in no time.
